Although the fabric on this vanity stool is in great condition, the color doesn’t match my taste. My solution to avoid reupholstering the stool is to make a slip cover. The benefits of a slip cover is that it is washable and I can make a new one if I decide to change my decor.
Using scrap fabric or muslin, drape the fabric over the chair and outline with a marker to create the pattern pieces.
Find the center point to the pattern piece, fold in half, and cut out. Cut using straight lines and leave room for a seam allowance.
Continue draping and marking until you have all the pieces created.
Once you have cut all your pieces, sew them together using a stay stitch.
Take the time to adjust the pattern and re-sew to get the perfect fit.
