About Stephanie

My name is Stephanie K. Murphy. I am an an active Do-it-yourselfer (DIYer). I began as a DIYer when I was in Junior High School. During my school aged years I was the youngest girl in my family for 10 years, so I had my own room. The DIY Exchange is a subsidiary of Living with Stephanie and your DIY blog. It is filled with DIY tips, ideas, examples, projects, crafts, and all things DIY. I would like to welcome you to the DIY Exchange blog. I ask that you continue to explore the creativity, inspiration, and motivation of my blog which shares interesting ideas, projects, tools, and resources for the beginner to the advanced DIYer. There is nothing more powerful than doing it yourself. OWN IT!!! I have traveled throughout this world for the love of God, Corps and Country. Being in the military for over 30 years has brought a life of travel. I have been to Japan, Korea, The Bahamas, Santo Domingo, Jamaica, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Iraq, and Afghanistan. I have stopped through Guam, Germany, Ireland, and Turkey. I have lived in and visited many states within these United States, specifically, Arkansas, Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Tennessee, Maryland, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, and Colorado. Throughout my travel by planes, trains, and automobiles, I have seen and done many things. Surviving many different languages and cultures, I feel full of life. After joining the Marine Corps, I developed this “life is worth the living” attitude. It seemed like everything moved out of my way. I became “tied to greatness” through volunteerism, sacrifice, service, commitment, and mentorship. I found myself bound together in a way visible to the eye.

My Thoughts
about
Creativity

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.  Genesis 1:1

Creativity begins with a thought that motivates and inspires you.  With God, there’s nothing impossible.  As Franklin Roosevelt said, “The only limit to our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts of today,  let us move forward with strong and active faith.”   I say that our only limitation to creativity is that of our own.

We have a window of opportunity, for a lifetime of impact!!!

Life has a way of taking us in many directions.  It is in these places that we find our happiness and joy, and enjoy the best that life has to offer us.  “Our lives are to be used as fully as possible, and truly it seems that we are never so alive as when we concern ourselves with other people” (Harry Chapin).

Be who you are today and who your want to be in the future.  Remembering that we live today for tomorrow and don’t worry about yesterday.  When you hold to your history, you do it at the expense of your destiny.  Start living the life the Creator intended for you!!!

My goal in life is to be “Tied to Greatness”

“Don’t forget to live”
