quiet those ruminative thoughts

How to quiet those Ruminative Thoughts

Step 1

If you can, take action. Write down the most positive outcome you’re looking for such as, I want to feel engaged at work and then create a plan to make it happen.

Step 2

Challenge your beliefs.  If you’re telling yourself,  something didn’t happen the correct way, take a more realistic approach.  It probably wasn’t all bad.

Step 3

Redirect your attention.  Clear your head with an engaging activity like Scrabble or tennis with a friend or catch with Fido — not with mindless TV

Marging from Chicago

Motherhood brings much joy, but also the responsibility for actions that will affect your children for the rest of their lives. The weight of making the wise decisions necessary to keep a child alive, safe and thriving can be agonizing. So many questions! So many answers!

The job that I’ve spent the last year learning is not the one I’ll have

Incredible!!! I have 3 years (May 9) until I retire and I am on a journey searching for what my true gift is…

Incredible!!! I have spent 30 years in the United States Marine Corps, and I have met a lot of friends, trained a lot men, traveled around the world, explored a lot of different foods, cultures, collected  a lot of memorabilia, and had many restless night.  But I must say after all of my experiences, my life has remains focused on the people that I have met along the way.

Being the Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Tar Heel was an incredible learning experience. We made excellent strides with our reporting, we took big stands on important issues and we beautifully chronicled the best and the worst of this year.

The sad thing is that, for many people in our class, this post will probably be the first time they learn about some of our progress this year.

In some ways, it’s humbling to realize that this newspaper that I spend a lot of hours slaving over isn’t really beloved by my peers in the same way.

And that’s because we don’t read news the way our parents did. And we never will.

This class didn’t teach me that. Professors have been squawking that at me for many many years now.

Print is dying. It’s an expensive product to love. And general mangers, publishers and editors the world over must…

The Multi-ti-Purpose Room

Well, I’ve signed up for the Camp Pendleton Mud Run for some unknown ridiculous reason. Since this will be my third mud run, I should have known better. However, my cousin Sara, texted me that she was doing it and was wondering if we were… Yadda, yadda, yadda, next thing I know, I’m doing it again. This time we pulled my two oldest girls into it and of course, Steve will be racing again. He’ll be done, clean, and waiting on us by the time we get half way through.

The hardest part of the race for me is the running because it’s a 10k and several of the miles are up hill. It’s the kind of uphill where you think you made it to the top just to see you have three more hills to go. One needs a good running base to do well, and I never seem…

My Thoughts…
Prayer is the responsibility of each one of us!!!

courage2conquercancer

Thank you to everyone who took a few precious moments out of your evening yesterday to pray for me. I believe strongly in the power of prayer! I had the most restful night I’ve had in many months.

Psalm 107:28-30 – Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven

A Penny for my Thoughts…

In 1988, I joined the Marine Corps and I enjoyed every minute of this life challenge. While I have travel throughout the world service my country, I have passionately pursued decorating. After 30 years of military service, there is but one destination for me and that is decorating. I have divulged the secrets of decorating. I have used tools that I never thought would touch my hand. There is no limit of imagination of my ideas and no fear of my ability to succeed.

We have all been given an indescribable gift and we have should not be afraid to use our gift.  I AM NOT AFRAID TO USE MY GIFT!
